Unlock the Power of Hydro Jetting

Hydro jetting is a powerful and environmentally friendly method of cleaning your pipes and sewer lines. Utilizing high-pressure water streams, this technique effectively removes buildup, debris, tree roots, and other obstructions, ensuring your plumbing system operates at its best.

Why Choose Hydro Jetting?

  • Thorough Cleaning
Hydro jetting reaches areas traditional methods can't, providing a comprehensive clean that helps prevent future clogs.
  • Long-Term Savings
Maintaining clear pipes reduces the risk of emergency repairs, saving money over time.
  • Eco-Friendly
Unlike chemical cleaners that can harm your pipes and the environment, hydro jetting uses only water, making it a safe and sustainable choice.
  • Versatility
Suitable for residential and commercial plumbing systems, hydro jetting is effective in various pipe sizes and types, including PVC, cast iron, and clay.

Hydro Jetting for Restaurants and Commercial Kitchens

A commercial kitchen puts more grease through a drain line in a week than a house does in a year, which is why jetting is a scheduled service for restaurants rather than an emergency call. Putting it on a regular interval keeps the line open through service instead of shutting a kitchen down mid-shift. See our commercial plumbing on the Treasure Coast for the rest of what we cover.

Signs You Need Hydro Jetting

One slow sink is a clog. These are the patterns that say the line itself needs cleaning, not clearing.

  • The drain clogs again within weeks of being snaked
A cable punches a hole through the blockage; whatever lined the pipe is still there and closes back up.
  • More than one fixture backs up at once
When a tub and a toilet go together, the problem is downstream in the shared line, not at either fixture.
  • A floor drain gurgles when the washer empties
Air being pushed back through a restricted line is one of the earliest warnings you get.
  • A sour or sewage smell near a drain
Decaying buildup on the pipe wall gives off odor long before it blocks the line completely.
  • Everything drains slowly, not just one fixture
House-wide sluggishness points at a main line narrowed by grease, scale or roots.

Hydro Jetting vs. Drain Snaking

Both have their place. This is the honest comparison.

  Drain snaking Hydro jetting
What it removes The blockage itself The blockage plus the buildup lining the pipe
How much of the pipe wall it cleans A channel through the middle The full diameter, wall to wall
How long the fix lasts Weeks to months if buildup caused it Months to years, depending on what feeds the line
Best use case A single fixture, one sudden clog Repeat clogs, main lines, whole-house symptoms
Works on tree roots Cuts through them Cuts and flushes the debris out
Works on hardened grease and scale Limited Yes, this is what it is for

If you have one blocked fixture and no history of it, snaking is the faster and cheaper answer and that is what we will recommend. Our drain cleaning in Port St. Lucie page covers that service.

Why Treasure Coast Pipes Clog

Drain lines in St. Lucie and Martin counties fail for reasons that have a lot to do with where we live.

Tree roots. Sandy soil and a high water table put root systems right at the depth our drain lines run. Roots do not break into sound pipe so much as find the joints, and once a few threads are through, everything moving down the line catches on them.

Grease and soap buildup. Kitchen lines coat from the inside out. Warm grease flows, then cools and hardens on the pipe wall a few feet down, and each wash adds another layer until the opening is a fraction of what it was.

Mineral scale. Floridan aquifer water is hard, and the minerals it carries deposit on the inside of the pipe the same way they crust a kettle. Scale narrows the line and gives grease and debris a rough surface to grab. Treating the water upstream slows all of it down, which is what water softener and filtration installation is for.

Hydro Jetting FAQs

What makes hydro jetting better than chemical drain cleaners?

Chemical cleaners burn a channel through a clog and leave the rest of the buildup on the pipe wall, so the drain closes up again within weeks. Hydro jetting scours the full diameter of the pipe with pressurized water, carrying out grease, scale and debris. Nothing corrosive is left sitting in your plumbing afterward.

Why do drains clog frequently in Port St. Lucie homes?

Three local reasons stack up. Our hard water leaves mineral scale on the inside of the pipe, and that rough surface grabs everything passing through it. Many homes here sit on slab-on-grade foundations with long, shallow lateral runs. And mature landscaping sends roots toward any joint that weeps.

Does hydro jetting work on roots?

Yes, for fine root hair and the early intrusion that clogs a line seasonally. A jetter fitted with a root-cutting head shears the growth away and flushes it out of the line. If roots have already cracked or displaced the pipe, jetting clears the blockage but the joint still needs repair - the camera tells us which one you have.

Is hydro jetting safe for older homes?

It is, once we know what the pipe is made of, which is why we camera the line first. Sound cast iron, PVC and clay all handle jetting at the correct pressure. If the camera shows a pipe that is already cracked, collapsed, or scaled through to the wall, we recommend a different approach rather than jetting it.

How often should I schedule hydro jetting?

Most Treasure Coast homes do not need it on a schedule. You jet a line when it slows repeatedly or when a camera shows heavy buildup. Restaurants and properties with grease-producing kitchens are the exception - those lines are usually jetted every six to twelve months to stay ahead of the problem.

Can hydro jetting fix foul-smelling drains?

Usually, when the smell is coming from decomposing grease, food waste or biofilm coating the inside of the line, because jetting strips that layer off completely. If the odor persists afterward the cause is elsewhere: a dried-out trap, a failed toilet wax ring, or a blocked vent. We check those too.
